About Matthew

Matthew Hyder is the CEO of Legacy Property, a business he founded in 2009 with the goal of creating high-quality apartments and residential communities across greater Sydney. Fifteen years on, Matthew is proud to have built a strong and stable business that has delivered or is delivering more than 6,500 dwellings across greater Sydney.

In his role as CEO, Matthew is the driving force behind the firm and its success.  He built a team of high-calibre property professionals who are passionate about property and who share in his vision of creating one of the strongest, most well-respected property development companies in Australia.  Importantly, Matthew has created a culture in which people uphold their highest standards, persist through difficulties and strive to deliver the best outcomes for investors, finance partners and customers.

With more than two decades of experience, Matthew has deep knowledge and expertise in all aspects of property development, including financial modeling, due diligence, acquisition, contract administration, project management and divestment. As CEO, he spends much of his time on strategy, supporting his team, working with landowners to unlock opportunities and communicating with investors to align their interests with deals.

Matthew's career in property began with Medalist Developments, a subsidiary of Macquarie Bank, which he joined after graduating from Princeton University and moving the Sydney. He later returned to the United States to work with Legacy Partners Residential Development Inc., one of the largest rental apartment developments in the country.
